   History
The Indian Runner Duck breed is believed to have originated in South East Asia, probably the islands of Indonesia, an area once known as the Dutch East Indies, hence the name Indian Runner. Texts refer to a ship's captain who took fawn and fawn and white-coloured ducks from Malaya back to his home in Dumfries, Scotland, where the ducks were distributed across the border into Cumberland. It is understood that fawns were first exhibited in 1876, while fawn and whites were shown in 1896. The Indian Runner Duck Club standard for fawn and whites was accepted in 1913

LATEST NEWS

   28-1-2012.

Middle of summer now and very hot so a lot of the young dont need the brooder heat on even at night. The ducks love to be hosed down in the 38 degree plus days, all stand in a line in front of me as i hose them off, and refill their troughs with cool water. Plenty of young ducks out and about and looking good. Some great young Saxony runners in the first batch a lot finer and of a more upright stance with good colour.
All mature ducks in heavy but healthy moult now, so looking very drab and the eggs have slowed down but in another months time will do another incubation as the eggs return.
